African Brass Sculpture

An African brass sculpture. The piece, which is likely a Benin ancestor altar, has two tiers on a circular base. Three figures stand on the top level and a row of seven figures stand on the lower level facing out. All are carrying weapons and several have shields.

Condition

- overall patina due to age; worn areas, particularly at the bottom of the base.
