Assorted ceramic bowls and plates from Germany and Japan. The nineteen pieces in this lot feature an oval centerpiece adorned with purple flowers and marked ‘Old Nuremberg – Bavaria – Germany’ and a plate covered with white and pink flower stems marked to the base ‘RS – Germany’ (Reinhold Schlegelmilch). Some pieces are unmarked, such as the oyster shell dishes with gilt accents and pink flowers. A dark blue tray with a cluster of flowers at the center is marked ‘Formalities by Baum Bros.’ A collectible plate with gilt trim and fruits is fitted with a string for hanging and marked ‘Made In Japan’. A hand-painted Noritake bowl depicts a Venetian gondola;
a Homer Laughlin bowl with a green fluted rim and interior sides depicts a bucolic cottage scene in the well. A red platter with a red rose at the center and gilt accents is marked to the base ‘Lido – W. S. George – White – Made In U.S.A. – 22 Carat Gold’.
