A hand-knotted Ben Ourani area rug. This Moroccan tribal wool rug is woven in brown, taupe, and camel over an undyed white wool field. Its composition is comprised of two large, notched diamonds outlined in brown, which extend from the top of the inner field to the bottom. A smaller pair of diamond shapes are nestled in their centers. Surrounding these elements are scattered geometric stars. The field is framed in a border with zig-zag patterns over white. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short kilim skirts and ivory cotton warp fringe. Unlabeled.
