Offset Lithographs After Virginia Carleton's Illustrations of Charleston

A set of four offset lithographs on paper after paintings by listed American artist Virginia Carleton (20th century). The works each depict a cityscape of Charleston, South Carolina in vibrant hues of red, blue, purple, green, yellow, orange and pink. Featured are Flower Vendors, Pineapple Gate, Rainbow Row and Heyward-Washington House. Each is signed and titled in plate just below the image; two prints include an additional signature in plate within the image to the lower left. The works are presented under glass in black wooden frames. Two frames include hanging wire to the verso, and two are fitted with sawtooth hangers.

Condition

- foxing and toning to prints; heavy wear and scratching to all frames; staining to frame backings; water damage to one frame backing; residue present beneath glass; loose joints to frames.
