Antique Persian Sultanabad Rug Pillows
Item Details
A pair of Persian Sultanabad pillows. The cover fronts of these pillows are made from fragments of a hand-knotted antique Persian Sultanabad wool rug. Each of these pillows features a cutting from the rug’s border area, including part of a stylized turtle pattern, with palmettes, leaves, vines, and flowers, as well as floral meander minor border designs, in a palette of ivory, cream, tangerine, and sapphire. Backings are cotton with zippers. The pillows are made in Turkey. They are tagged on the reverse.

- signs of wear are consistent with previous use as a rug.
