Large Hand-Knotted Persian Tabriz Area Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz area rug. This wool rug features a rosette medallion in a field of puling floral vine work with lancet leaves and Shah Abbasi palmettes in a palette of wine, dusty rose, sage green, tan, steel blue, cream, and midnight blue. The primary border offers a meandering floral pattern flanked by guard borders that have an alternating pattern. The rug is finished with overcast selvedge edges, a narrow kilim skirt and a knotted cotton warp fringe at either end. The rug is unlabeled.
