A hand-knotted Peshawar area rug. This wool rug features a floral medallion with rectaliniar patterns and large peonies throughout the field in a palette of pale olive-taupe, sage green, cadmium yellow, teal, pink, and cream. The primary border offers a herati pattern and is flanked by guard borders with repeating floral patterns. The rug is finished with overcast selvedge edges and a natural cotton warp fringe at either end. The rug has a dealer tag attached but is otherwise unlabeled.
