An antique Renaissance Revival style armchair. This wooden chair features a carved crest with a knight’s head and acanthus scrolls. The squared back and seat are covered in tooled and colored leather with ornate designs featuring a knight’s head, an urn, and foliate motifs. The chair has scrolled arms with carved acanthus leaves and is embellished with brass tone rosettes along the stiles and apron. It rises on turned legs and spindles with horizontal supports terminating in scrolled feet on casters.
