Early 20th Century Colonial Manufacturing Co. Mahogany Secretary Desk
Item Details
An early 20th century secretary desk by the Colonial Manufacturing Company. This piece is composed of Honduran mahogany and features a serpentine top above a pair of shelves with pierced side rails. The lower shelf rests above two aligned drawers and a slanted fold-down writing surface; the fold-down door opens to reveal three small drawers and several cubbies. A long drawer rests below the writing surface and the straight apron is embellished with geometric carvings. The piece rises on tapered legs with fluted accents and round feet. The drawers are equipped with brass tone pulls and the long drawer is marked ‘Solid Honduras Mahogany Colonial Mfg. Co.’ to the interior.
