Item Details
A hand-knotted carved Chinese area rug. This wool rug is woven in a palette of black, lavender, gray, and peach. It features an allover design of palmettes, leafy vines, and small flowers over a black field. Framing the field is a major border featuring a stylized cloudband design of repeating palmettes over gray. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short kilim skirts and long, dense ivory cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
