Large Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian Area Rug

A large Indo-Persian area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of brick, black, and camel. It features arabesqued palmettes, flowers, leaves, and vines over a brick-colored field. Framing the field are three meandering floral borders, including a primary border containing palmettes, flowers, and foliage over black. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short kilim skirts and ivory cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
