An oil painting on canvas of a landscape. Portrayed with large loose brushstrokes and suppressed detail, this impressionistic work features a hilly landscape with colorful foliage in the foreground; a boxy white building is visible in the middle-ground, and purple hills are silhouetted against a blue sky in the background. The painting is illegibly signed to the lower left. It is presented in an ornate gilt and gesso frame with elaborate foliate molding.
Condition
- some wear in frame includes small chips, scratches, stains, and discoloration throughout; areas of red bole revealed throughout.
