A giclée on canvas after an original 1864 painting by French painter Sébastien-Charles Giraud (1819-1892). Titled La Véranda de la princesse Mathilde dans l’hôtel de la rue de Courcelles this depict a verdant solarium interior of the used by the Princess, cousin of Napoleon III. Sculptures are placed amongst the arching palm leaves and flowers, and there is an arrangement of a table, chair, and vitrine in the center on the vibrant red carpet. This work is signed in plate to the lower left and presented in a gold tone wood composite frame with a linen lined inner border, wired for hanging.
