An offset lithograph on canvas after a 1st century Roman fresco titled Flora, also referred to as Primavera or Spring. It depicts the goddess of Spring from the back as she walks though a verdant landscape picking flowers. The original was discovered on a wall in the ancient Roman town of Stabiae that was buried in ash by the same volcanic eruption that destroyed Pompeii. The print is mounted in a dark wood frame that is wired for hanging. A metal plate attached to the frame reads ‘Flora Anonimo’ and ‘Manifattura di signa’

Condition

- print is faded; scuff marks to upper left and right of frame and other minor wear to the finish.
