An antique 1894 signed oil painting on canvas of a river in a landscape. Signed illegibly by hand and dated ’94 to the lower left corner, this piece depicts a bridge built over a small river leading to a farm filled with fields and barns. The painting is mounted in a gilt wood frame with plaster floral decoration and a wire present to verso for hanging purposes. No signature is present to the painting.
Condition
- to fair; slight yellowing to varnish, repair to upper right in sky (patch to verso); inpainting to the surface; small protrusion to canvas to lower right; wear/ and peeling to finish of frame; composite detail is broken off at both top corners, cracked at lower corners
