Antique Asian Melon and Bamboo Farmer's Hat

Item Details

An antique Asian farmers hat made from a dried melon or gourd exterior with attached bamboo internal structure. The body of the hat is a dried section of melon with an attached bamboo infrastructure. The head rest is made from a loosely woven bamboo structure and attached to the outer body of the hat with bamboo lacing. It has a cord attached to two loops on the underside. It is attributed to the Philippines.

- crack in one edge of melon
- some fraying and loss of strips on bottom edge.
