Item Details
An antique Indian miniature painting on paper of women’s house. Composed of ink and gouache, this painting features a large home filled with women; a man climbs a ladder to reach women on a balcony, while the guard remains asleep on the ground floor. The painting is presented under glass with a linen mat, a gold-tone fillet, in a gold-tone wood frame. A label from Daruma is adhered to the verso.
Condition
- paint loss and wrinkles throughout; stains present along upper edge of painting; small tears throughout painting; gilt loss in frame; minor stains and scratches throughout frame; snags throughout mat.
