An abstract watercolor and ink painting on paper by listed artist Don Werner (American, 1929 – 2010), dated 1975. The work depicts an abstracted composition with purple and green gradients. Small areas of ink add weight to the composition. Signed and dated to the bottom left in graphite. Presented unmounted and without a frame.

Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.

- some wear around edges of paper; puncture marks in the corners from previous mounting; small tear to the top right paper edge; to the verso, paint marks.
