The work depicts an abstracted composition with contrast between the soft translucent color and heavy ink.. Signed and dated to the bottom left in graphite. Presented unmounted and without a frame.

Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.

- some wear around edges of paper; bottom right corner creased; puncture marks from previous mounting exist on every corner; to the verso, paint marks.
