Pair of Enila Lowe Hand-Colored Chinese Garden Scene Lithographs
Item Details
A pair of vintage hand-colored lithographs on paper by an artist named Enila Lowe. The prints are titled In a Ming Garden and Song of Cathway. Both are signed in-plate to the lower left and are noted ‘M.A.B. 1941’ in-plate to the lower right. The prints depict women in stunning gowns lounging in ornate Chinese gardens filled with rocks, tree,s plants, pagodas, and more. The illustrations are completed in thin black linework accented with pale hand-coloring in muted shades of pink, green, yellow, blue, and brown. Both pieces are matted in white and presented behind non-glare glass in matching wooden frames carved to look like bamboo. Sawtooth hangers are attached to the verso of each.
