Tony LeVier P-38 L-5 Airplane Photographs and Stereoscope Cards

A stereoscope with fourteen stereoview cards, marked ‘H.C. White Co.’. The views vary in subject and include two of Niagara Falls and one of the Grand Canyon, among others. Also included are six vintage black and white, silver gelatin photographs of Tony LeVier’s Lockheed P-38 L-5 airplane. Tony LeVier (1913-1998) was a famous test pilot and air racer. He was the first pilot to break the sound barrier, in a Lockheed air craft and survived one mid-air crash and eight other plane crashes. Condition
- the scope has an unattached wire card holder and pivoting handle is stuck in a folded position. One photo was printed with damage to the negative.
