Hand Painted Chinese Cache Pot With Gold Scalloped Rim

A beautiful hand painted cachepot, substantial in size, with a scalloped gold rim and handles. The fluted sides and interior are painted with clusters of ripe fruit, blackberries, butterflies and dragonflies. The underside is marked ’Yong sheng tang zhi” (永勝堂製), which has been identified by some scholars as the hallmark of the Yongsheng (Eternal Victory) Ornamented Porcelain Factory (永勝彩瓷廠), which started to produce wares in the early Republic in Hong Kong.
