Antique Japanese Carved Wood Mushroom
Item Details
An antique Japanese wood carving of mushrooms. The carving has one large and four small mushrooms facing one direction and four small mushrooms facing the other direction. The gills of the mushrooms are carved in detail.
Provenance
Collected in the late 19th and early 20th century and donated to a Private Midwestern Institution in 1938
Sold to enhance and preserve the Institution’s mission-relevant Collections
Condition
museum tag on mushroom top.
