Chinese Porcelain Incense Burner

Item Details

A Chinese porcelain incense burner. The vessel is decorated in a traditional fahua style glazes and features a reticulated lid with a guardian lion figure. The body of the piece has two angled handles and panels of dragons across the front and back. The underside of the piece is inscribed ‘Bestowed during the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty’ (大清康熙年製, Da Qing Kangxi nian zhi), however, the vessel was likely produced during the Republic period (1912-1949) or earlier. The underside is also marked with the previous museum’s inventory number ‘1938.0388’.
