Two Antique Candlesticks

Item Details

A group of two similar antique metal candlesticks. Both items have bases with three lions paws under an apron of acanthus leaves. The shafts are different but both have bulbous, columnar shapes that terminate in the candle holders. The two candle holders are different.

Collected in the late 19th and early 20th century and donated to a Private Midwestern Institution in 1938
Sold to enhance and preserve the Institution’s mission-relevant Collections

Condition

- some bent and dinged areas, loss of paint
- old museum sticker on base of one
