Pair of Antique Southwestern Metal Sconces
Item Details
A pair of decorative metal sconces from Mexico or Southwestern United States. The sconces have a hammered thin metal frame that shows remnants of green and rust colored paint and an extended base for the candle holder. The frames are cruciform and have fan-shaped decorations at the end of the cross pieces. 1938.0481 A & B

Collected in the late 19th and early 20th century and donated to a Private Midwestern Institution in 1938
Sold to enhance and preserve the Institution’s mission-relevant Collections
Condition
- some minor dents and rust overall
- loss of paint
- fan decoration is missing from top of one sconce
