Machine Made Capel "Sultan Sarouk" Area Rug

A machine woven Capel area rug in the Sultan Sarouk pattern. The red field has a pattern of palmettes and boteh with an arabesque design throughout in a palette of blues, green and cream. The rug has a compound border in a similar palette. The main border has a lotus flower pattern on a blue field. The wool rug has a sewn on fringe to either end. The rug has a tag to the reverse indicating it is a machine made Capel rug made in Turkey.
