A hand knotted Serapi area rug. This rug features a central medallion in a palette of red and navy. The cream field has a pattern of rosettes and spandrels in a palette of earth tones. The rug has a compound border in a similar palette. The main border has a crab pattern with lanceolate leaves and rosettes on a navy field. The rug has a natural warp fringe to either end. The rug has a tag to the reverse indicating it is a Serapi rug made in India.
