Joan Abelove Oil on Canvas "For Lebritia"
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas of a figure, titled For Lebritia, by artist Joan Abelove (died 2010). The work depicts a figure dressed in yellow against a textured ochre and white ground, their arms around what appears to be a white cat. The piece is signed in field next to the figure, ‘Abelove ’69’ as well as to the verso of the canvas. The piece is presented in a wood frame with no hanging hardware and the title and material’s written to the verso.
Condition
- painting would merit from a cleaning; minor wear to frame finish; chipped to the lower left; some dents to canvas.
