Antique Chinese Embroidered Silk Purse

Item Details

An antique Chinese embroidered silk purse. The drawstring purse is decorated metallic thread embroidery. The embroidery depicts a large double gourd with the Chinese characters meaning ‘good luck’ (大吉), scorpions, frogs, lizards, and foliate motifs. The purse features a corded handle and tassel ornaments. 1938.P2
