Antique Metal and Leather Rein

Item Details

An antique ornate metal chain and leather romal rein. The rein has a double strand of chain link metal with decorative cups and beads along the length. There is also a larger sliding bead to adjust the drape. This is attached to the romal cord that is a matching chain link before ending in a leather strap.

Collected in the late 19th and early 20th century and donated to a Private Midwestern Institution in 1938
