Antique Japanese Copper Mirror Signed Fujiwara Yoshinobu

An antique Japanese copper mirror. The decorative mirror has a landscape scene with two cranes under a pine tree with bamboo, all popular symbols of longevity. Two large characters across the vignette read ‘Takasago’ (高砂), a classic Noh theater play. An inscription on the left reads ‘Tenshō, Fujiwara Yoshinobu’ (天正藤原義信). The reverse side is blank. The mirror likely dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. 1938.0306
