Antique KPM Portait Plaques of Virgin Mary
Item Details
An antique KPM portrait of The Virgin Mary and the Christ Child. This softly rendered portrait depicts Mary with her child in her arms, her eyes cast downwards. The Christ Child, wrapped in a cloth, looks out towards the viewer. The pair is backed by a dark ground and each has halos. This work is unsigned and presented in an ornate gold tone round frame, and has a wire to the verso for hanging. Also to the underside is a marking for K.P.M. and a size mark of ‘2’ as well as the retailer’s mark of ‘Firenze’ .
Condition
- frame is cracked in several places; small spots of paint loss to surface of artwork; backing has been cut.
