A hand-knotted Kashmir wool area rug. This area rug features a large ornate pendant medallion with elegant floral sprays, vine details, and lancet leaves throughout, in indigo, deep scarlet red, cream, mocha brown, green and apricot. It has an ornate compound border of small floral and foliate elements in complementary colors on a contrasting field, with a wide indigo primary border of lotus flowers and filler palmettes with racemes of rose blossoms in a garland form. It has overcast edges with a small kilim skirt and dense, tied cotton fringe to each end. Unlabeled.
