J. Thomas R Higgins Oil Painting "Farm in Wayne"
Item Details
An oil painting on board of a field, titled Farm in Wayne by listed American landscape painter J. Thomas R. Higgins (1943). This painterly work depicts, in richly saturated colors, a field of dry earth backed by a farmhouse and barn. Heavily rendered trees and vegetation can be seen to the left side of the painting as well as in the distant background. The work is lightly signed to the lower left corner, and has a note of provenance with the title, artist, and the year ‘1989’ to the verso. It is presented in a natural-finish wood frame with a wire to the verso for hanging.
Condition
- light wear and damage to frame; board verso has paint marks on it.
