A hand knotted Bakhtiari area rug. This rug features a central floral medallion in a palette of reds, blues and cream. The field has an arabesque pattern with a series of shah abasi palmettes throughout in a palette of reds, blues and cream. The rug has spandrels in the corners with a compound border in a similar palette. The main border has a palmette pattern on a cream field. The rug has a natural warp fringe to either end. The rug has a tag to the reverse indicating it is a Bakhtiari rug made in Iran.
