A grouping of watercolors and minatures by various artists. In this assortment of five is two watercolors and three circular miniatures, including a watercolor depicting the martyrdom of Saint Denis. This work shows the central figure reaching down to pick up his severed head, and is signed R. Duvernet to the lower right corner. It is mounted on board. In addition to a Grecian-style relief portrait, included is a round miniature portrait of the Virgin Mary and Christ Child, with angels on either side of them, presented in a gold tone metal surround, and a painted landscape with a river and three figures, signed what appears to read ‘June Hubert.’
Condition
- fair; edge wear to mats; portrait of Mary and Christ has paint loss; relief portrait is scuffed and cracked; wear to landscape miniature.
