An oil painting on board of the Christian Holy Family. This loosely-rendered painting presents a scene of Mary and Joseph resting with the infant Jesus next to them, an atmospheric depiction of an angel with its arms out just behind them. This work is presented in a black and gold tone frame with a wire to the verso for hanging.
Condition
- significant cracks along top and bottom margins; paint loss to bottom left; crazing and wear throughout; darkening of varnish; board is loose from frame; frame and backing has chips and wear.
