18th Century Oil Painting of Saint With Holy Infant Christ

An late 17th – early 18th century oil painting on circular canvas of a saint holding the holy infant Christ child. This image depicts the male saint, in blue and red with a gold tone halo (possibly Joseph), holding the Christ child in his arms. He has an open book, to which she is pointing, in one hand. Christ wears a blue cloak and has a halo of stars. The painting is presented with a gold tone frame encircling it, and has a loop to the verso for hanging.

Condition

- lightly warped throughout; work is chipped and has crazing; colors appear to have darkened; back has damage.
