A hand knotted Shahsevan area rug. This rug features a geometric shaped central medallion in a palette of blues and reds. The red field has a pattern of guls and palmettes in a palette of red and blue. The rug has a compound border in a similar palette. The main border has a eight pointed star pattern on a cream field. The rug has a tag to the reverse indicating it is a Shahsevan rug made in Iran.
