A machine made Chinese Rhine rug from the Marietta collection. The rug has a series of pendants and palmettes in a palette of blue, green and pink on a midnight field. The rug has a compound border in a similar palette. The main border has an arabesque design of boteh and palmettes on a red field. The rug has a tag to the reverse from the Marietta Collection that indicates it is in the Rhine design and was made in China.
