A hand knotted Bakhtiari garden area rug. This rug features a series of panels across the field; each has a slight variation of style in a palette of red, blue, grey and cream. It features images of cypress boughs, vine works, oak leaves, trefoil floral sprays, and trees of life. The rug has a compound border in a similar palette. The main border has a floral pattern on a cream field. The rug has a natural warp fringe to either end. The rug has a tag to the reverse indicating it is a Bakhtiari rug made in Iran.
