A machine made Chinese Rhine area rug. This rug features a diamond shaped central gul in a palette of grey, blue and pink. The cream field has a pattern of rosettes and shah abasi palmettes connected by an arabesque design in a palette of grey, blue and pink. The rug has a compound border in a similar palette. The main border has an arabesque pattern with palmettes and botehs on a midnight field. The rug has a tag to the reverse indicating it is a Rhine rug made in China from wool and silk.
