Large Vintage Thai Kalaga Bullion Tapestry with Scene From Ramakien

A large kalaga tapestry produced in Thailand. This elaborately detailed work features a scene from Ramakien, a Thai variation of the Hindu epic Ramayana. Painstakingly hand beaded, with sequins, stones, metal and bullion thread against a black, velvet-like background. This vibrant palette moves before the eye in hues of gold, green, yellow, orange, silver, red, blue, brown and more. Housed securely, under glass, in a custom-made shadowbox.
