A hand knotted Sirjan Afshar area rug. This Iranian rug features a lattice style gul pattern in palette of reds, blues and cream. The blue field has a pattern of flowers and boteh in reds and whites with spandrels in the corners. The rug has a compound border in a similar palette. The main border has a wavy pattern on a red field. The rug has a natural warp fringe to either end. The rug has a tag to the reverse indicating it is a Sirjan rug made in Iran, having an Afshar pattern.
