Finely Cast Brass Daoist "Happiness" Deity

A 20th century finely cast solid brass Daoist deity depicting Fu, the figure representing ‘happiness’. The beautifully rendered figure wears a robe detailed with serpentine dragons, clouds and further auspicious symbols then drapery at the shoulders and belted with a medallion and tassels at the waist. The long bearded deity has a happy expression, he wears an ornate headdress and is posed atop a cloud base with one palm facing up at the waist and the other holding a scroll.

Condition

Wonderful patina and very finely carved.
