Item Details
A charming circa 1908 original painting on canvas depicting an English landscape with a millstream waterfall. The summery landscape is done in a rather naive manner to illustrate a mill waterway with cat-tails, a rail track at the left and a picket fence in the background. It is presumed to be an English landscape due to the newspaper packed behind the painting; The Manchester Evening News, 1908. The painting is signed in the lower left ‘G. Gale’ and is presented behind glass in an antique gold frame with carved outer and inner edge.
Condition
Some toning at the upper edge and nicks at the corner of the frame.
