An offset lithograph on paper after an original charcoal drawing titled Mother & Son by well-listed German artist Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945). This work features a mother holding a young boy in her arms. Both figures smile as they embrace and the boy looks off to the left. The artist’s in-plate signature is marked to the lower right. It is presented under glass in a simple gold-tone wood frame.
Kollwitz was a German Expressionist primarily known for her printmaking and her socially charged work that has been exhibited and collected by multiple institutions, including the Brooklyn Museum, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the National Gallery of Art, among many more.
