Archaistic Chinese Carved Jade Buckle

Item Details

An antique Chinese carved jade buckle. The buckle is decorated with a repeating foliate scroll carving on the front and has a carved, open slot on the reverse. The stone is a fine, translucent white jade with some areas of russet inclusion. Accession number 1938.0070.

Collected in the late 19th and early 20th century and donated to a Private Midwestern Institution in 1938
