Chinese Jade and Malachite Brass Buckle
Item Details
An antique Chinese brass buckle with white and pink jade and malachite stones in a brass setting. The jade is carved in the form of a bat. This is one part of a buckle with the catch curved up under the malachite cabochon. Accession number 1938.0002.
Provenance
Collected in the late 19th and early 20th century and donated to a Private Midwestern Institution in 1938
Sold to enhance and preserve the Institution’s mission-relevant Collections
